Activities
The
Association hosts regular membership meetings or conventions at various
locations around the United States. Our next event is the 2010
Convention, which will be held in Galveston, TX October 21-24. If you
would like to host a
membership meeting in your location, please prepare a proposal for
presentation to the board. An ideal location for a meeting would
be either near a troop carrier or tactical airlift related military
base or an aviation museum. Consideration is being given to Association
sponsorship of group activities such as cruises, tours, etc. to
supplement the conventions.
As the Association grows, it may be neccessary to establish regional chapters which might have regular meetings at the local level. If you would like to set up a chapter in your region, survey the interest among other members in your area and prepare a presentation for the board.
Members are encouraged to participate in local activities as guest speakers at civic clubs, veterans organizations, youth groups, etc. This is an excellent way to educate the public about the troop carrier/tactical airlift mission and its many accomplishments.
